Are MPA weather alerts official emergency alerts?

No. MPA may display or summarize information from official sources such as the National Weather Service, but MPA alerts are an informational homeowner resource. Always rely on government emergency alerts and local authorities for urgent safety instructions.

Does an alert mean my property was damaged?

No. A watch, warning, advisory or radar image describes weather conditions over an area. It does not prove that an individual property sustained damage. A property-specific inspection is required to evaluate concerns.

Is there a charge to receive weather updates?

MPA does not plan to charge for its email weather updates. Standard mobile carrier message or data rates may apply if you separately choose SMS updates.

How often will MPA contact me?

The foundation plan is to send relevant storm updates, preparedness information and limited follow-up related to the areas selected by the subscriber.

Can I stop receiving updates?

Yes. Email messages will include an unsubscribe option, and any SMS program will provide a clear stop method.

Should I rely on the map during an emergency?

No. The map is provided for general awareness and education. Follow official emergency alerts, local authorities and emergency services during dangerous conditions.
